The Nats are back in the playoffs after a 79-year hiatus. We are going bananas! It's been a magical season, and the girls love going to games to see Bryce Harper (Miriam's favorite) and Steven Strasburg (Robin's favorite). It's a fun team — let's hope they go far!

Sukkot apple picking

The weather has cooperated beautifully for the harvest festival of Sukkot. To celebrate, we took the kiddos to Homestead Farm out along River Road. Expecting a quiet morning out in the country, we instead happened upon about a hundred kids and their moms (and a handful of dads) from Washington Hebrew Congregation. Mommy knew the WHC rabbis, of course, so we hopped on the hayride, picked apples, and pet the animals with them. It was a perfect Sukkot!

One Month Old

 It's hard to believe that "Double A" is already one month old. He weighed in at a healthy 10 lbs, 10 ozs at his one month appointment. We were thrilled all his grandparents could join us for his naming at Temple Sinai on Friday evening. (Thanks for flying in from the California Grandma Jean and PopPop!) Miriam says "playing with Aaron" is the most fun thing about having Aaron as a brother. Robin likes having an audience. She insists that Aaron watch her jump from couch to couch. Mommy likes having an excuse to watch tv late at night while nursing--she is currently making her way through The Good Wife. Daddy is just glad our family is complete.

Robin is pretty fearless when trying to follow in her sister's footsteps. It doesn't always work out as planned, alas. Below, she leaps off the top of a ladder and winds up, well, you can see... Don't worry, she bounced right back up!

 Aaron was an incentive for Grandma Jean and PopPop to travel to DC for a quick visit. The girls were thrilled to have people to take them to the pool and the park, play hide and seek, and read books with them. Double A was glad to have his sisters out of the house so he could sleep in peace. We are so glad they are coming back again next week!
