Chocolate overload

After three days of camp food, we splurged on chocolate in Hershey, PA. Yes, it's a tourist trap. Yes, it's junk food. But Milton Hershey was an incredible man who left a tremendous legacy in the Hershey School and, of course, the girls (and Daddy!) love chocolate.  The highlight was getting to design and make our very own chocolate bars.
Hey, who's downing my frozen cocoa?!

Camp Harlam

Mommy got a gig doing rabbinical work at Camp Harlam for a few days, so we packed up the minivan and took off for Kunkletown, PA. The girls had a blast at "Camp K'ton," where there were about two teenage counselors for every kid under six. They even got to swim in the lake!

Fireworks

We love the 4th of July! This year was Robin's first time getting to stay up for fireworks, so she was excited all day. By 9:30pm, it had cooled to 93 degrees, and we joined about 10,000 of our Takoma Park neighbors for the hottest, loudest, brightest, longest fireworks display ever (though not quite as crazy as what Cousin Chase and Cousin Brynn had in San Diego). Robin thought it was a bit much...

Little Einstein

Robin is our little Einstein -- not because of her brains so much as her wild hair. It's gotten curlier and curlier this summer, and when she comes down a plastic slide at the playground...watch out! Check her out:

Off to camp

Miri started summer camp this week at Acorn Hill School. It's about five minutes from our house, right along Sligo Creek. She was a bit shy at first, but she loves it. Every morning, she gets ready by putting on her bathing suit ("it's patriotic!"), grabbing the Metro section ("I want to bring the weather"), and hopping in the car. Maybe next week we'll bike down there...

Jumping, jumping, jumping

Robin loves to jump, jump, jump -- off the couch, off the table, off of rocks, wherever. Now that our pool is open, she has a nice, wet place to jump. Here she goes:

And here she is on the couch:

Strawberries!

We went a-strawberry picking a little bit ago, and it was so much fun! It didn't take the girls long to fill up their pails with more than five pounds of berries, and then it was off to the tractor playground and slides. We love Butler's Orchard!
