Old Hallowell Day

Our new town of Hallowell has a great tradition, Old Hallowell Day. It is basically a huge town party. Last week, we were lucky enough to enjoy our first one. Miriam declared it better then the Fourth of July. (Did we mention there was a parade with lots of candy involved?) There was also a great field day for kids put on by Hearts for Ezra, a ride in a hot air balloon and fireworks. It was a great day!

Yes, there is a zambonie in the parade!
Who doesn't like a fire hat?

Walking!

World, we have a walker! Aaron is now cruising around the house, up the stairs and generally getting into everything. He is so proud of himself, and very happy with his new found ability. Life in the Asch household will never be the same!
AA shows off his walking skills....wait for it, it is at the end of the video.

Fourth of July Weekend

We celebrated our nation's independence in our new hometown this year. We took a morning swim in our  neighbor's pool (thanks, Debbie!) and headed to Augusta for the parade. There was candy, a lot of candy and lots of big trucks. Did we mention candy? After dinner we had red, white and blue ice cream--vanilla with strawberries and blueberries.
Daddy played in a 4th of July baseball tournament over the weekend. Three games in two days (in 90+ degree heat!) Mommy and the kids went to the beach in New Castle, NH to meet up with friends from DC who were in Boston. We're so glad Jacob and Suzanne made the drive up so the girls could play with Mikah.
We ended the weekend with a swim in Jamie's Pond, a beautiful spot only 10 minutes from our house. It was great to cool off with a swim.
Ready for the parade
