On the Road

We packed up a 15 passenger van and are headed down to Mississippi! We are delivering the van to the Sunflower County Freedom Project. First stop, Durham, NC where we stayed with the Quigleys. Then onto Sapphire, NC in the Wingfields beautiful mountain house. We are about to head out to Nashville, but here is a post for the road. Miri just loves to tour the country.

Grandman Jean Visits!

Okay, it was really last month, but Mommy is a little (a lot!) behind on this post. The lateness does not in any way reflect on the quality of the visit. We had a great time going to the park, playing, and reading together. It was fun to see that Miriam is old enough to be very excited about the visit. She would wake up each morning and ask, "Where's Grandma Jean?" And Robin was her usual, smiley self.

Growing up

Miriam is growing up. Sigh. She's such a fun and funny kid -- and quite a chatterbox these days. She's fascinated by writing, especially on the windows. The picture below doesn't quite show it, but it says "Miriam." Our windows are adorned with all kinds of words, pictures, and scribbles (mostly the latter). We've given up on clean windows...

Into the wild

The rains stopped long enough for us to squeeze in a camping trip last weekend. It was a full family affair -- Robin & Miri, their cousin Pearce, and all four parents. The girls love the outdoors, and Robin managed to sleep even as the rest of us loudly made s'mores, read stories, and played flashlight tag in the drizzle. We tried out our new family tent, and it survived the overnight downpour.
