It's hard to believe our baby is five months old. She was born in between two snowstorms and is now dealing with 90 degree heat. We are looking forward to her first swimming experience this weekend. In addition to munching on her toes (Daddy is jealous of her flexibility), Robin is also sitting up (!), rolling over, and smiling up a storm--but not for her five month picture below.

Crafty Mama
Mama recently got a sewing machine off of Craig's List. Her original intent was to sew diapers for Robin's new gDiaper stash (thanks for the tip Ashley...you converted me from prefolds!) Well, no fabric for that yet. After making a first communion robe for a neighbor, Mama fired up the machine to make some shorts for Miri. Miri picked out the fabrics at the store (brown is her favorite color...she wanted to hold the fabric the whole time). She likes the new shorts, but her shirt says it all....

Too frisky?
Our loyal kitty Thunder has grown pretty close to li'l Rocky -- but he may have gotten a bit too close at nap time the other day:

Land of John Brown
Miriam and her cousin Pearce (age 3) went off for their first overnight camping trip together (they brought their dads along, too) last week. It was a blast! They camped near where the Appalachian Trail runs through Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Driven by the 90 degree heat, they went skinny-dipping in the Potomac River, then visited downtown Harpers Ferry to wait for a train that never came. Alas...but walking the tracks was fun, and making s'mores was even more fun that night. And of course Miri loved listening to Uncle Rob play his guitar.
Waiting for her train to come in...
