On the Road Again

The Asch family took to the road last weekend to visit friends and family in New York and the surrounding areas (we were only there a couple days, alas, so we didn't see everyone). Robin got to meet a lot of people for the first time and she was a big hit.
Robin enjoys some time with Chris' Aunt Michelleand with Erica's Aunt Lauraand with our friend Michael Saul (aka, "The Baby Whisperer")

Some might wonder at the Asch family wanderings with such little children. Well, usually Daddy goes off to some wonderful conference at a posh (and paid for) hotel while Mama has to travel around with the kids (now you know who is writing this!). The trip back from NYC was bearable because Mama and the kids stopped in Philadelphia to visit our friends Rachel and Morris and their daughter Pardes. The girls had a great time playing together. In fact, they had so much fun that sleeping in the same room was impossible. Half an hour after they were supposed to be asleep, Miri was playing with trains while Pardes watched wistfully from the crib. Miri was sent to her own room.

The Purim Line

When we asked Miriam what she wanted to be for Purim, she said, "Metro train!" A Metro train? What?!?

Enter "super-mama," who whipped out the scissors, tin foil, construction paper, and who knows what else to create a show-stopping costume -- the whole time, she was thinking, "I'm finally a real mom!!" Of course, Miriam didn't want to wear it much of the time, but she did look darn cute. Not to be outdone, Robin was a pretty stellar looking tomato!

Settling in with Robin

It's hard to believe that Robin is two months old (and then some) already. The doctor said she looked great at her 2 month check-up. She is more than 12 pounds and sleeping at night for 7-9 hours. (Did we mention she has a happy mommy?) She is also smiling and laughing up a storm. Here are some recent pictures.

Chilling with Big T (is he getting a little fresh?)

Smiling!
Is my big sister coming to get me?

Pete Rose would be proud...

Miriam has gotten bored with the old-fashioned way of going down the stairs, so she's tried to make things more exciting. She has yet to perfect this method, however, as the scratches on her face last week can attest. Must be fun to be a two-year-old!
