What's gotten into those cats?

Now that Miri is a little bit older, she is interacting with the cats a little bit more. She loves to pet them (well, grab their fur) and stares at them when they walk by. The cats are remarkably good at tolerating Miriam reaching out and touching them -- those Delta cats are a special breed. In fact, they often want to cuddle with our little cutie or try out Miri's toys (her tummy time lady bug and her bouncy seat, but not the bath yet). We couldn't resist snapping a few shots -- check out Thunder and Lightning making a Miri sandwich.

Snow!

As you might have heard, Cincinnati experienced a blizzard last weekend: 10 inches!! In honor of Miri's first big snow, Mommy stayed in the house almost all day, just appearing with the little one briefly to snap some pictures for posterity. Miriam and Mommy did manage to brave the roads to go to a Xavier (9th-ranked!) basketball game, compliments of Laura Baum (thanks Laura!). We loved seeing Xavier win the game and the net cutting ceremony that followed, though Miri was quite startled by all the crowd craziness. She eventually calmed down and even managed to cheer for the home team -- but that doesn't mean she won't cheer for Duke come tourney time.

Chris made it home in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday after driving all night from DC (in a Mustang convertible!) when his flight was canceled. What did he want to do after all that driving? Go sledding! Of course, you may be thinking that Miriam is way too young to sled but we (well, Chris) was determined that she have that experience. We originally planned to send her down the hill in her car seat, but that seemed too complicated, so Chris ended up going down the hill with Miri strapped to his chest. She was a little bit confused by all the trips down the hill, but enjoyed it. A very tired girl ended up falling asleep on the way home (before the first snowball fight.)
